Favourite memory with your Canine Athlete

My favourite memory with Arlo is hard to pick (and probably changes depending on the day), I just love flying down the trails with him!

But if I had to pick one it would probably be our first world championship, in Leipa, when we did leg 1 of the relay for GB team 2. It was a mass start of all nations, some with 2 teams, and Arlo was one of the few non-purpose bred dogs.

We didn't get off the line quickly compared to others, as he's 10kg lighter than most other dogs, but he was so amazing, fighting through the field and dragging us home in 5th. I couldn't have been prouder of him, he just took everything in stride and had the most fun.

About Us

Hi, I'm Adam, a GBR canicross athlete with my GSP, Arlo. Together with my partner, Jen, we have 6 dogs, Skye, Betsy, Arlo, Freyja, Chip & Apollo. My canisports journey began with Skye, being a Labrador she's always up for a run, so when I was training for an ultramarathon I figured she could come too. Well, she smashed it, coming home as first dog! Later that year we did the canicross National Championship and qualified for the GB Team.

Arlo, who is my main race dog now, joined our family at 18 months old. He came onto the scene with a bang, winning his first ever race at our local race series. He has done amazingly so far, always being the fastest non-purpose bred dog, even internationally! He runs with pure joy, I can't wait to see what else we've got as we work on bikejor as well as canicross.

Next season, Apollo will be stepping up to the racing mark for canicross, my first purpose bred race dog, I am very excited for his future! Being an Antinol Athlete means so much to me because I'm passionate about looking after my 4 legged family members and am excited to be part of the journey to help all dogs be as healthy as possible, for as long as possible.
